Membership

We welcome anyone to join the AAES!

Sonographers, physicians, industry/vendor representatives, and current sonography students are all eligible to join.

Your paid Annual Membership entitles you to attend our two (2) Virtual Education Conferences and the In-Person AAES End of Year Conference, which will include dinner. Sonographer members will earn up to 8 CMEs; we do not currently offer CMEs for physicians or professionals in other fields.

Students, we know your budget is tight so your membership is free! You won’t earn CMEs (don’t worry, you won’t need them for a while) and you can’t attend the end-of-year party (AAES guideline, sorry). But, joining a local society will introduce you not only to the world of medical conferences and education, but provide you with contacts and connections that you’ll need when you graduate.

The dates for this year’s conferences are:
February 22, 9am – 12pm CT (Virtual)
June 28, 9am – 12pm CT (Virtual)
October 18, Time TBA (In-Person)

Important Virtual Conference Etiquette and Guidelines:
In order to show professional respect to our esteemed speakers and earn CEUs, please note the following:

1. CEUs will only be awarded for the hours attended. You are welcome to arrive late or leave early but will only receive credit for the time in attendance.

2. Your camera must remain on and you should remain on-camera for two reasons. The first is to show respect for our speakers, who have graciously volunteered their time for us. The second is to ensure we are awarding CEUs in accordance with ASE guidelines and not jeopardize our partnership agreement with them. Your cooperation is appreciated.

3. Your first and last name should be displayed on-screen. Please use the name that is on your professional registry.

4. Please follow standard virtual conference etiquette by keeping your microphone muted, unless you are asking a question of the speaker. Host reserves the right to silence microphones at any time.
